1. Jodhi Meares speaks out for first time since car crash
Summary:
Johdi Meares, a Australian fashion designer , spoke to the public for the first time after her car accident. She didn't mention anything about the accident. She was known to be drunk before the accident. Police said her breath analysis returned 0.181, three times of legal driving limit. Not only this, her license was already suspended due to fines for crashing cars in parking lot.
Persuasive
This article was very impressive to me because first, this kind of problem also occurs often in Korea and second the way she react is very different from the way in Korea. Also I think these events can have bad effect to teenagers. Some celebrities in Korea act with too much freedom like Johdi too. But there are some difference between them. Few months ago, a famous comedian was caught for doing illegal gambling . In Korea, this might not end just as fine penalty or going to prison. His or Her career is over and it is hard to come back again. However in Jodhi case, I think she doesn't care at all and make the same problem again. I think celebrities should be more responsible for their action because the public are always watching after them and their every action can influence the public, especially teenagers because many teenagers take celebrities as role model. So Celebrities should act with more responsibility.

2. Brave Aussie ambassador in Baghdad Lyndall Sachs has stayed on amid the escalating crisis.
Summary:
Lyndall Sachs the Australian Ambassador to Iraq said she will stay in Iraq in spite of the terror in Iraq. Foreign minister told her to evacuate Iraq, but Lyndall said she will be staying without any hesitation because it was her job she lived for. Many other embassy officials have already withdrawn but she said she was not yet prepared to abandon the post.
Persuasive: This article make me think of the Korean government officials. Compared to Lyndall, they lack many ability especially responsibility. For the past few year, there were so many government officials scandals such as Se-wol accident. I think these happened because officials lack responsibility. Higher position requires more responsibility. When you are appointed as a government official, you must be more responsible for your position and do the best you can do.

3. Gay couple Gordon Stevenson and Peter Fraser marry in Australia under British law
Summary:
A same sex marriage took place in Australia British consulate for the first time under the British law. Gordon and Peter have been together for 19 years and were finally married under the blessing of their family and friends. However, Australian law doesn't permit same sex marriage yet. Gay people say that this event will be the first step of legal gay marriage in Australia , and hope that they can have marriage any place in Australia soon.
Persuasive:
I'm not a gay person, but I think same sex marriage should be allowed by law. It is very unfair that you can not have marriage with your lover because you have different sexuality. Every person should have the right to be happy and every person should be equal under the law. In Korea also, gay is a taboo. But this needs to be changed. It is hard to change this at once so we should be open-minded to accept this new culture. In conclusion , same sex marriage should be allowed by law.
