[World Cup] Korea, Russia play out cautious 1-1 draw
Summary
South Korea made a draw against Russia 1-1 for the first match. Lee keun ho scored the first goal in the second half by the mistake of the Russian goalkeeper. However, the lead didn't last long. 5 minutes later Kerzhakov pulled one back. Both Russia and South Korea got one point for the first game and is ranked second below the Belgium team which got 3 points against Algeria.
Persuasive
Koreans including myself didn't expect much about the Korean team because our forever captain Park Ji-sung didn't participate in this world-cup. Also the last warm -up match before the World-cup against Ghana was very poor 4-0. But because I'm a Korean and a soccer maniac, I woke early and watched the game, and I was surprised that Korea team was doing well. When Lee scored, I thought we could win this game but unfortunately we couldn't keep the lead. However, this game against Russia gave me the hope that if we do well on the second game against Algeria and at least draw against Belgium, we can go to the tournament. My friend and I are planning to watch the next game together.

[World Cup] Korea routed by Algeria 4-2
Summary
Korea was defeated by Algeria 4-2. Algeria scored 3 goals during the first half while Korean defenders and midfielder were disordered. Second half Korean team sprang to life and scored two goals ,but couldn't catch up the lead. Earlier Belgium won 1-0 against Russia sitting on top. Korea will play the last game against Belgium in Sao Paulo on June 26.
Persuasive
I was very disappointed by the players. The midfielders and defenders who did a good job in the last game were totally messed up in the first half. As a result, Algeria scored 3 goals in the first half. Because, the defense was messed up, the ball couldn't be connected to the front making 0 shooting attempts in the first half. However , as the second half start, the Korean team sprang to life. As Son scored the first goal, Korea ruled the game. But it was too late, the 3 goals we lost in the first half were too critical. I was very sad when Son pounded the ground and yelled. When he interviewed, he was crying and said he was sorry to the Korean people. As we lost the second game, the future of going to the tournament became dark. But I hope the players show their fighting spirit in the last game and get a successful conclusion of this World-cup.

Disgraced Hong resigns as national team coach
Summary
Hong Myung-bo the head coach of Korea national football team resigned due to the winless World-cup. He said he felt responsible for the terrible result and it will be irresponsible for him to continue coaching . He also said the players were not in good physical conditions and a lot of things went wrong but he believes that this World-cup will be a good experience for our players. Hong strongly denied the rumors about visiting real-estate before the World-cup. Hong said he hadn't think of this future adding he hopes to spend more time with him family.
Persuasive
I think this Korean team was the worst I ever saw. I became a big fan of soccer when I watched the 2002 World-cup in Korea. Hong was the captain of that team and he scored the winning goal for the penalty kick against Spain in the quarter final. So, I expected him to do well in this World-cup but eventually he made 1 draw 2 lose the worst in the last 4 World-cup. But I'm not just saying about the result. His player appointment was not understandable especially putting Park-joo-young as striker who was a bench member during the last year. Also Jung Sung Ryeong who is ranked 563 out of 569 World-cup player was the worst goal-keeper I've ever seen. He lacked not only physical ability but also fighting spirit. It was found out that Jung visited the tax-free store in the Airport. This is very much compared to the players like Son who pounded the ground crying or the Greek team who decided to give their prize money to build a training center in their homeland. I hope in the next World-cup the Korean team play better with this experience and show hope and fighting spirits to the people.
